Amicorum Spectaculum!
Coming back to Boom for a second year I was so ready! My sweet friend Marilyn came along this year and what a lovely and completely different experience being there with a female friend instead of my kid.
We took a shuttle bus from Eindhoven instead of the train from Amsterdam, and I definitely preferred it. Half way to Boom our bus stopped at a vineyard where we got to have a complimentary lunch and met some new friends with whom we spent most of the trip.
This year I got tickets Dreamville Easy Tent, and it was so luxurious compared to Magificent Greens. We did end up with a tent that was already occupied (twice) but once that was all straightened out we get settled in to our tent and hanging with our neighbors.
One thing to note is that the majority of people at Tomorrowland do not dress in Festival attire like we do in the states. Regardless, we still got all costumed out, because to me that’s a big part of the fun. The only girls rocking the thong, pasties and spirit hood look were a smattering of Americans.
Inside the Easy Tent campground there were all the usual amenities – toilets, showers for a few pearls, a lounge area, and a spot to refill air mattresses that had deflated. We loved it. At the end of the Fest we were able to bring our tent home with us, and we nabbed a few extra to bring home as gifts since many tents were abandoned by folks leaving early in the morning.
The same as last year, breakfast was well worth it and a total deal. We enjoyed hanging out, drinking coffee and reading the daily newspaper. BUY THE BREAKFAST VOUCHER.
We saw everyone. Classics like Deadmaus, AlisonWonderland <3<3<3 Armin Van Buren, San Holo (THE BEST SET OF THE WEEKEND!) and newcomers like Sophie Francis. Because Tomorrowland, the music was overwhelming and amazing and the best you’ll find anywhere. Tomorrowland sets the bar. It is the ultimate EDM festival, no doubt in my mind.
I’m so incredibly grateful for two years of Tomorrowland. I remember watching the aftermovie 5 years ago, transfixed. I figured one day I may be able to go, but the ticketing process, the crazy costs, getting enough time off- they all seemed to be challenges I’d have no hope of overcoming… but I did, twice! It just goes to show that if you put in the planning and stay focused- even the craziest dreams can come true!
